After emptying the milk from the pump into an appropriate storage container, take apart the different pieces that make up the pump. You can wipe down the white unit with a damp cloth, but do not submerge the main unit into the water as it will damage the motor. The other pieces can be washed in warm soapy water and left to dry before sterilising for their next use. It is recommended in New Zealand to sterilise bottle and pump parts until your baby is 12 months old.
Yes, you can wear the breast pump on the breast that is not currently feeding your baby if you want to make the most of any letdown that would otherwise go to waste.
No! The great thing about this wearable breast pump is that you can wear it in your own bras. As long as your bra can securely hold the pump against your breast, you can wear whatever style you like! Loose bras or ones without much support may be a little trickier, and you need to be mindful that as the pump fills with milk, it will become heavier - so you want a bra that won’t let the unit slip out as it fills!
The collector bottle that comes with the breast pump is better used as a storage bottle than as a feeding bottle, and does not come with any teats for instant feeding. The unit allows you to easily transfer the collected milk to a feeding bottle of your choice. Perfect if you want to empty the contents and feed your baby the freshly collected milk while you return the unit to your bra to pump some more.
